I recently returned from Haiti where I was with Hud Berrey, Hank Chambers, and Tim McHenry (all former Army ortho docs) and we had a very rewarding time performing hundreds of procedures on quake victims.  We served in Milot at a very nice (for Haiti) hospital with three OR's and three temporary treatment rooms (where sedation procedures were performed).  We had lots of donated supplies and most of the ortho equipment you would want. There is no C-Arm, but there is a fluoro-scan.  There were about 400 patients there when we left on the 5th of Feb, all but about 60 housed in a tent hospital across the street from the "real" hospital.  The tents are surplus "Air Force" tents that look like Dep-Meds type tents.

They need OR techs, physical therapists, and nurses just as urgently as they need more surgeon volunteers.  They need pediatricians and internists as well.  Contact me if you want more info:
