Fellowship Program in Sports Medicine

The Sports Medicine and Performance Center at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, has two sports medicine fellowship opportunities for qualified applicants beginning in August of 2017 and another two positions beginning in August of 2018.  This new fellowship has been fully accredited by the ACGME.  It will offer exposure to all aspects of clinical and operative management of sports-related injuries and conditions. 

The faculty includes five orthopedic sport medicine fellowship-trained surgeons, as well as three nonoperative sports medicine faculty, and the resources of a large academic practice including two well-equipped laboratories.  The program offers extensive experience in shoulder (open and arthroscopic), elbow throwing conditions, hip arthroscopy, complex knee reconstructions, and sports medicine foot and ankle.  The fellows will have a comprehensive exposure to the care of athletes at all competitive levels including MLB, NFL, Division I collegiate sports, as well as multiple area high schools.  The Kansas City metropolitan area provides an excellent lifestyle with multiple cultural and recreational opportunities, as well as fine schools, parks, and housing.
