Resident Life

What is great about this program?
The orthopaedic surgery program at EAMC offers a rigorous 5-year course of study and practice with clinical exposure at our regional military tertiary referral center. Our programs size (2 residents per year) fosters a close knit, collegial environment in which each resident is known and valued from the very beginning of training. In addition, we offer excellent outside rotations at partner institutions locally in Augusta and regionally.

Why military orthopaedics?
Musculoskeletal injuries present the greatest risk to the readiness of our fighting force. Orthopaedic surgeons play a vital role in returning patients to function. Furthermore, the physical demands of military service often result in degenerative conditions that impair function in our retiree population. It is a privilege to take care of our nation’s finest.
